Erdmann Theodor Kalide (born 8 February 1801 in Königshütte; died 26. August 1863 in Gleiwitz) was a German sculptor.〔Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie (ADB). Volume 15, Duncker & Humblot, Leipzig 1882, p. 22 ((German text in Wikisource) )〕 Kalide studied under Johann Gottfried Schadow and Christian Daniel Rauch. Kalide's first independent work ''Boy with Swan'' was commissioned by Frederick William III in bronze for the Charlottenburg Palace garden. This sculpture was later replicated numerous times and decorates numerous locations, e.g., the Osborne House. A street in Königshütte/Chorzów is named after Kalide.
